The Alliance for Women and the South Carolina Commission on Women sponsored an education forum to ensure that health facts are known as the debate continues.
Those facts include:
(1) vaccine is most effective if given between ages 9 and 15;
(2) vaccine will eliminate worst of cervical cancer;
(3) eliminating cervical cancer will have a positive economic impact on the SC economy. The bill includes an "opt out" option for parents for any reason. From prior experience with vaccines, over 90% of folks will agree to having the vaccine. We have an opportunity to dramatically decrease cervical cancer in our lifetime.
Please read the bill and let your legislator know your feelings. Your voice will make a difference!
